Serving San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties 805.466.7457

Good morning members and friends of HEET,
I am pleased to announce the time and location of our next training event.
We will meet Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 9:00am at the CAL FIRE Training Grounds behind Cuesta College.
This event is heavily reliant on CAL FIRE/SLO County Fire and we greatly appreciate their cooperation. This training event is as much training for them as it is for us.
We will be hosting a radio check-in net on the Tassajara Peak (146.670- PL 127.3) repeater from 08:30 to 08:45. We encourage all HEET members who are licensed Amateur Radio operators to check-in to the net.
Please be on time (not early or late)--CAL FIRE personnel will open the grounds to us upon their arrival.
To get to the training grounds, utilize CA 1 from either Morro Bay or SLO, and take the Hollister Road turn for Cuesta College. Continue straight down Hollister until it dead ends onto Colusa Avenue. Turn right on Colusa and then left on Tehama Avenue. (We will be posting some signage to make it easier) to locate. We will be staging in the area until CAL FIRE/SLO County Fire personnel arrive to open the facility to us.
***There is no street address--if using a navigation aid, enter "Tehama Avenue" as the destination*** Map Link Here
Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Training Committee
I'm happy to remind everyone of the upcoming HEET training. This is taking place on March 3 (Saturday) and will be at San Luis Obispo Airport Fire Station (CAL FIRE Station 21). This is the Fire Safety/Fire Behavior class, which is highly recommended for any HEET member who wants to be part of a trailer team as well as anyone else interested in how Cal Fire works.
The class will begin at 9:00 am, so please plan to arrive by 8:45am to allow time to find parking and for some catching-up with fellow members.
Saturday, March 3, 2018
