February Training

February Training
What: Procedures and Protocols
Where: Goetz Manderly
1400 Madonna Road
San Lusi Obispo
When: Feb 2, 2019
8:58 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

It is a great time for new members to learn what we do, how we do it and why we do it this way. It is a great time for previous members to review and learn about the new things we have going on. You will also be able to purchase the new uniform shirts and any patches or decals you may need. (Shirts must be prepaid, you will be notified when they are ready). The new patch is different, so it must be replaced. The rocker underneath is the same and may be reused on the new shirts. Something to remember, just because you are a member, doesn't mean you will be called out for an emergency. We will start with the people that have taken the time to attend training and learn what we do. The more training you have, the more of an asset you will be.

Horse First Aid training will be held on September 15, 2018. Dr. Andy Dibbern will be presenting our training, which will include information on smoke inhalation, wound care, checking vital signs, and wrapping techniques.

This is an important training for trailer teams and shelter personnel, as horses that have been evacuated often need some sort of medical care.

You will have the opportunity to learn to check vital
signs on a live animal, as well as to practice wrapping.
This is also a great opportunity to meet fellow team members
and catch up with friends you haven’t seen for a while.
Hope to see everyone there.

There will be coffee and donuts available!
