New Cal Fire App & Trailer Rodeo information

In case you missed it on Facebook, Cal Fire has posted their new app for wildfires. Check it out here.

http://readyforwildfire.org/Ready-for-Wildfire-App/

Our annual Trailer Rodeo will be held on Sunday this year, May 7th at 9am at the Unical Center (Elks Rodeo grounds)in Santa Maria at 9am. You will have the opportunity to show off your driving skills or learn some new ones. You will not be judged on what or how you do things, only learn new or sharpen your current skills. We are hoping to have a CHP officer there to let us know what new rules of the road have come out since last year. Either way, our capable team will be there to inspect your rigs and give you advice. So bring your rig and your trailer (please leave your horses home) and come join us for a couple of hours of fun and learning! We would like to move this event further north next year, but so far we have been unable to secure a place like the rodeo grounds that cost us nothing to use and has lots of room to practice. So if you have any ideas, please bring them with you, or reply to this email, we will look into them for next year..

Any questions, contact John Henry @ 478-3297

April HEET Training

Hello current and potential HEET members,

Please set aside Saturday, April 1, for our Anderson Sling Training!

This hands-on class will be for HEET members and local veterinarians. Not a member? We will have membership applications with us! Not sure if you want to join? Come and watch! (Hands-on training is for members only--thank our insurance company!) The training session will take place at the Farm Supply in San Luis Obispo (off of Tank Farm Road). Please prepare to arrive by 8:45 am so you can get your pick of the donuts! The session begins promptly at 9:00 am. CAL FIRE Airport Station 21 will be present with Rescue 21, as the Anderson sling is in their possession. This will be your opportunity to get your hands dirty and get some experience with this valuable recovery tool, which can be used in combination with a helicopter for aerial rescues or with a tripod for lifting a downed horse.

Hope to see you there! Any questions? Call John 805-478-3297 or Julie 805-264-3422
